081101 Control Theory and Control Engineering

This program aims at training talents of control theory, control engineering and computer application. It emphasizes on the combination of control theory, computer science and electronic science. Projects of great importance to national economy are conducted, and the achievements of the research are widely used in such fields as petrochemical industry, energy sources, communications, economic management, aviation and spaceflight, war industry and biomedical engineering. There are 12 professors, and 15 associate professors. In recent three years, the research and development funds have been more than 20 million, and over twenty important prizes were awarded. The research area is quite new, with adequate funds, advanced equipments and skilled teachers, showing its great potential. Compared with similar key universities, the obvious characteristic of the specialty is the combination of control theory and engineer application. As a result, graduates of this program not only have abundant control theory, but also have ability of engineer integration and computer operation.

The program aims at equipping students with knowledge and application of pattern recognition and intelligent systems. Students should keep up with the development of pattern recognition and intelligent systems, so that they can satisfy the need of our economy, science and education development. Graduates of this specialty can deal with such problems as pattern recognition, image processing, artificial intelligence, intelligent control, intelligent sensor system, etc. Combining theory with application, they are able to analyze and research new projects of modern science and cross subjects. There are 12 professors (among whom five are Ph. D advisors) and 12 associate professors.

Measurement technology and automation equipments are the fundamental technology for some research fields, and they are also the bridge of theory and application. In nowadays, information science develops rapidly, which signifies the importance of measurement technology and automation equipments as the way of gaining and managing information.
The program aims at providing talents with scientific research, advanced education and engineering application. The students will learn intelligent transducer technology and its application, design and integration of monitoring systems, automation measurement and signal processing technology, intelligent measurement instrumentations. With the research work and application, combining software and hardware, graduates of this specialty not only have adequate theory, but also can solve practical problems.
